Step back in time about 200 years ago.  As you are traveling down a two-lane highway that used to be a country road where the trees lining the street are as old as our country.  You come upon a red gate with a long twisting driveway lined with towering cedar pine trees and luscious green lawns.  Entering in the gate you get this euphoric feeling of stepping back in time.  A time when life was not cluttered with the sounds of computers, pagers, cell phones and PDAs.  Then to your right there appears what would have been classified 200 years ago as a three story Georgian style stone manor house.  You got a glimpse of it from the street, but now you can see it in its full glory.  A carriage light at the end of the drive says you are home.  A stone walkway leading up stone steps that you know two hundred years of travelers had been on.  The steps lead you to a welcoming porch where you would expect to see Grandma sitting in an old porch swing and enjoying the beauty that her eyes behold.
Since this is a working farm, you will be greeted by the soft bleating of sheep.  The sheep are in the large pasture with soft rolling terrene just to the left of the house.  Their constant companion and protector is named Molly.  Molly is white and blends in with the sheep but she is the one who barks and doesn't bleat.
You enter the red door and step into the parlor where the lady of the manor warmly greets you.  The walls are lined with wonderful antique pictures and assorted memorabilia to match the age of the manor.  It is an antique lover's delights.

Upstairs you will find each bedroom as it would have been 200 years ago except for an occational amenities of modern convenience.

In the morning as the sun comes up over the horizion you will be awakened to the smell of fresh bacon and eggs coming from the kitchen.  If you have other choices for breakfast, the lady of the manor can handle those also.  The coffee, or tea of your choice, will be ready for you.  Breakfast is served in the 2nd dining room off the kitchen where the origional working fireplace still holds the giant kettle.  A tea or an evening meal can also be arranged.

The Cabin Creek Inn is located nine miles east of York, Pennsylvania, and one mile west of the Susquehanna River.

The manor, known as the Burgholtshouse is in the National Registry of Historic Places, and was built circa 1810 from mica schist stone found on the property. Its neo classical Georgian style is four stories with ten-foot ceilings. It consists of a parlor, two dining rooms, five bedrooms, a den, six fireplaces, three porches and a kitchen. The rooms are tastefully furnished with period antiques.

Adjacent there are two buildings from the same period, a spring- house and a bank barn. Originally the property was considered part of the state of Maryland, but later as borders were changed it is now in the state of Pennsylvania.

Cabin Creek runs through the farm where you can fish for trout or take a refreshing stroll along the banks. We raise Kathadin sheep and organic vegetables. Boating is available just a short drive away at the Susquehanna River. Close by is the Moon Dancer Vineyards & Winery featuring fun and informative tours. The Black Angus is thirty-five minutes away and about five hundred antique dealers under one roof, all in the Amish countryside.
